Our Commitment to Privacy

We believe that protecting the privacy and confidentiality of consumer and client employee information is very important. We value your business and the trust you have placed in us. Keeping current with (GLBA), (HIPAA), the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and all state & federal regulations regarding consumer data, THG has continued to enhance our privacy procedures regarding how we handle our client’s consumer and employee information.

THG will protect consumer and client employee information on our end; however, it is essential for you to protect yourself against unauthorized access to information on your side. Take simple measures like signing off and logging out when finished using any computer; keeping your passwords in a secure location; and never sharing your passwords with any third parties.

In addition, THG continues to work very closely with our clients to meet their individual privacy policy requirements. To help you better understand how your consumer and client employee information is protected when visiting our site, we are providing you with the following statement describing our best practices and policies concerning the privacy of consumer information on the web.

The Hibbert Group will only collect consumer and client employee information that is voluntarily submitted during voluntary “opt-in” to the company by its clients, purchased on behalf of its clients, or procured on behalf of its clients through marketing activities. Data is only collected if “opt-in” is selected, and is limited to the use(s) mentioned when opting in. The Hibbert Group will not knowingly collect consumer information from individuals under the age of 18 without verification of appropriate parental consent as performed by The Hibbert Group’s client. All consumer information collected online and offline is subject to “opt-in” and “opt-out” mechanisms as defined by our clients. All relevant communication contains at least one mechanism to “opt-out.” The Hibbert Group’s customer defines business rules for database and list maintenance relating to the management of consumer marketing programs/information. Consumer and client employee information is collected through, but not limited to, data file transmissions from The Hibbert Group’s client or their business partner, websites, e-mail campaigns, returned mail / Business Reply Cards (BRCs), consumer inquiry by mail or phone, and coupon rebate programs.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your Personal Data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.  We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Data and follow data retention practices in line with applicable law.  These measures can include physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards.  We also limit access to your Personal Data to only employees, agents and representatives who need to know.  The Hibbert Group’s data transfer security is maintained through a combination of several data encryption methods and authenticity certificate programs including SSH, PGP and SSL security certificates. SSH utilizes Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) which allows for increased security when transferring files over the Internet. The Hibbert Group has liability in cases of onward transfer of data to third parties. The Hibbert Group will take reasonable steps to permit individuals access to correct, amend, or delete information that is demonstrated to be inaccurate or incomplete.

The Hibbert Group will offer EU, UK, and Swiss individuals whose personal information has been transferred to us the opportunity to choose whether the personal information it has received is to be used for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. The Hibbert Group complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Hibbert Group (THG) commits to refer unresolved complaints concerning our handling of personal data received in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and/or the Swiss-U.S. DPF to the ANA DPF Dispute Resolution, an alternative dispute resolution provider based in the United States. Enforcement

THG is subject to the investigatory and enforcement power of the Federal Trade Commission. We are required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including meeting national security or law enforcement requirements, to the extent such disclosures are permissible under applicable law.

The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over The Hibbert Group’s compliance with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF).

Website Usage Information

With respect to the corporate website, www.hibbert.com, THG will collect, store, and/or use the consumer information provided which includes, but is not limited to, any of the following: (a) a first and last name; (b) a home or other physical address, including street name and name of city and town; (c) an email address or other online contact information, such as an instant messaging user identifier or a screen name that reveals an individual’s email address; (d) a telephone number; (e) a social security number; (f) an account number of any type; (g) an Internet Protocol (IP) address or host name that identifies an individual consumer; (h) a persistent identifier, such as a customer held in a “cookie” or processor serial number, that is combined with other available data that identifies an individual customer; (i) web beacons that collect information through web logs; or (j) any information that is combined with (a) through (i) above. The information we collect is used to contact you regarding any questions, comments, or requests for information you may have regarding our services. THG does not currently use ad serving companies to place banner ads from other firms on our site; therefore, there is no tracking by these third-party companies from any banner ads, bulletin boards or other interactive venues. We also do not knowingly collect consumer information from children under the age of eighteen.

Security Technology

THG’s website has extensive security measures in place, including the latest encryption technology to firewalls and backup procedures, to protect the confidentiality of all consumer and client employee information. THG maintains these safeguards to assure that the identity of consumer and client employee information is never accessible to anyone outside THG.
